About

The Foodology Collective is a group of young professionals that have chosen to follow their hearts and minds into the kitchen, bar, cellar, and beyond. Some of us have logged much time in the food service industry, and some of us have only enjoyed the receiving end of that equation. Others relish the comfort that can come creating behind a bar, while others would spin in a circle of madness in the weeds. Some of us can even guide your resort excursion, whereas some of us have no experience in that realm, save resorting to taking a vacation. Regardless, all of us have a varied set of interests, hopes, and dreams that we bring to the table, and the melding of minds is often what makes new beauty take shape.

A collective mind, with a thoughtful but experimental approach, brings new results and growth. Where our experience and knowledge may often be based in the classical or traditional elements of growth, harvest, purchase, preparation, and presentation, the desire to create and learn anew only continues. The consolidation of varied opinion and approach will serve us well to continue this trend. Old school minds, new school eyes.

Of course, cultivation, purchase, preparation, and presentation are only the major starting blocks on this journey, as foodology encompasses so much more. We aim to, and welcome, the parsing of every detail and angle you can find in your kitchen, physical or mental. We implore you to explore both, but especially the mental: the ideas, dreams, and experiments that will transform the physical. May you explore and create in the mind, so that the body can present progression and growth.

Although our chosen definition of foodology could be perceived as vague, we present it to you as inclusive. Let us not forget the classical and traditional that has brought us thus far, but let us continue to remain open to learning anew. It is hoped we may then gain the wisdom to amalgamate it all.

Borrowing an album title from Tommy Guerrero gets us started: From the Soil to the Soul. Let us update that, for the new school: From the Soil to the Soul to the Soil.

Cheers,

The Foodology Collective
